The Rustic Mechanicals performs "William Shakespeare's The Tempest" on their 2024 Thundering Hearts Tour at The Lyric Theatre on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

Widely considered to be the last of his solo plays, "The Tempest" is Shakespeare’s final masterpiece, a hilarious and lyrical tale of forgiveness, generosity, and enlightenment.

Play Synopsis:
On a distant island, a man waits. Robbed of his position, power, and wealth, his enemies have left him in isolation. But this is no ordinary man, and this is no ordinary island. Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, is a magician, able to control the very elements and bend nature to his will. When a sail appears on the horizon, he reaches out across the ocean to the ship that carries the men who wronged him. Creating a vast magical storm, he wrecks the ship and washes his enemies up onto shore. When they wake, they find themselves lost on a fantastical island where nothing is as it seems.

Directed by Jim Warren, alongside Voice & Text Coach Bridget Rue Esterhuizen, and Dramaturg John Shirley, with Production Design by Jason A Young, and Production Management by Seret Cole and Niki DeWitt, the Mechanicals featured in this production include Len Batson, Kyia McGill, Sarah Young, Morgan Sprouse, Asa Krivnov, Ashton Nardella, Stephen Phillips, Jason A Young, Derek Hess, and Eric Jett.

Tickets for adults are $20.00 and $12.00 for children 16 & under.
