Join Mountain Lake Lodge for their End of Summer Blues Fest on Sunday, September 1st featuring music from the Lizzy Ross Band, Justin Johnson and the Barrelhouse Band in Mary's Barn at Mountain Lake Lodge.

Enjoy a full day of music and fun with great food and local beer on tap all day!

Chapel Hill’s Lizzy Ross Band delivers exuberant Soul/Americana. The last year has dealt them several accomplishments, including being voted the Carolinas’ Best Rock Female and an ongoing stay at the top of HGMN radio charts. Ross’s voice delivers a charming trill one moment, only to erupt in rough, bluesy emotion the next. It’s a powerful instrument that’s earned her comparisons to artists like Grace Potter and Edie Brickell among others.

Ross’s songwriting and the band’s unique style keep listeners coming back for more. Ross’s shrewd and personal lyrics are woven into sophisticated arrangements that include touches of country, ’60s roots rock, and a dash of Motown.

With a style firmly rooted in Blues tradition, but not afraid to break new ground, Justin's unique sound is the direct result of his passion for combining and advancing widely varying musical forms from all corners of the world. Harvesting influences from Chicago, Texas and the Mississippi Delta, Barrelhouse emerged out of a shared obsession with the raw authenticity of blues in the summer of 2006. A few short years later, Barrelhouse has shared stages with ZZ Top, Gregg Allman, Delbert McClinton, Jimmy Herring, and Jason Isbell.

With two guitars, an over driven harmonica, a notoriously tight rhythm section, and three vocalists, Barrelhouse strives to create something unique, all while giving a respectful nod to the celebrated blues tradition that brought them together.
