Friday Night Out Concert Series welcomes The Key West Band for their final concert of the series on Friday, July 26th on the Henderson Lawn in downtown Blacksburg.
The Key West Band is known for its high energy Caribbean influenced music. They were voted the number one party band by the Roanoke Times. With a large supply of Jimmy Buffett songs as well as Reggae’, Creole, Latin and original songs, this band can turn the darkest of winter nights into an island party. Their music crosses so many boundaries that they have become a staple in the corporate, festival and college markets.
For more information, visit: http://www.keywestband.com
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on during the show.
The rain site for all Friday Night Out concerts is in the Old Dominion Ballroom, located on the first floor of the Squires Student Center.
The Summer Arts Festival (a joint effort by Virginia Tech and the Town of Blacksburg) was established in 1991. This Festival is held each summer beginning in June and ending in late August. This year's events will provide New River Valley residents, Tech faculty/staff/students, conference attendees, and tourists with an attractive array of arts and cultural attractions.
These include: live theatre productions; gallery exhibitions at the Armory Art Gallery; outdoor musical concerts on Henderson Lawn, an Independence Day Celebration sponsored by the Town of Blacksburg; the Steppin' Out Street Festival, Art at the Market, Summer Solstice sponsored by the Downtown Merchants Association; three classic films sponsored by and being shown at The Lyric Theatre on College Avenue and, again this year, we are featuring a Storyteller.
