Description:
The Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation presents the 3rd Annual Gospel Sing on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Luke and Odd Fellows Hall.
Join us for an afternoon of singing, dancing, and fellowship at the St. Luke & Odd Fellows Hall. Our Third Annual Gospel Sing event will feature local groups and soloists performing their favorite current and old-time gospel favorites. Former residents of New Town – an African American neighborhood in Blacksburg during the time of segregation – will participate in a panel discussion to share what life was like in the neighborhood.
The event is free, though donations are encouraged. Food and beverage will be available for purchase, including a traditional fish fry prepared by locally-renowned Chef Richard Perry.
The event runs from Noon to 5 PM. A schedule and list of performers can be found at http://blacksburgmuseum.org/event/new-town-festival-gospel-sing/
Sponsored by the Virginia Tech Foundation, Downtown Blacksburg Inc., and the North End Center.
