Description:
Join Historic Smithfield Plantation at their annual Flags and Flowers Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 29, 2017.

Join us for a low key observance of Memorial Day at the Preston Family Cemetery to honor our veterans. There will be a short talk on the Preston Cemetery and Memorial Day.

The event will also feature an Honor Salute by the 24th Virginia Infantry / 83rd Pennsylvania Infantry and bagpipe music from Andrew Meeks.

After brief remarks, the public is invited to place flags and flowers (provided) on the graves of veterans. You are welcome to bring your own cut Peonies and American Flags, but we will have plenty to share.
