Description:
The Floyd Chamber of Commerce presents the 2017 Floyd Chamber Rubber Duck Race on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at On The Water in Floyd, VA.

Come for an admission-free, family-friendly time on the river and watch the rubber duck race with the Duck Drop starting at 1:30 pm.

The Top prize for the winning duck number is $300.00, 2nd place wins $200.00 and 3rd place duck is $100.00 For $5.00 a duck, you can have a numbered duck assigned to you and be eligible for one of the above cash prizes. The more tickets you purchase, the greater your chance to win.

You can also enjoy a $5.00 grilled hot dog or hamburger meal and rock to live music from a local band. This is a family-friendly event with activities just for kids and other family friendly activities. Kayaks, canoes, SUPs and tubes are available for rental on site.

Those with duck numbers do not need to be present to win. Duck number tickets available for purchase at Floyd Chamber and Visitor Center, Harvest Moon, Republic of Floyd, and Union Bank in Floyd.

Online duck number ticket sales end at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 25, 2017. Duck tickets will be available on site from 12 pm to 1:15 pm on Saturday, August 26th.

The start of the race is the bridge at the intersection of Slusher Store Road and Thunderstruck Lane and the end of the race is just past the intersection of Thunderstruck and Sowers Road. The food and music are also at On The Water.

In case of inclement weather that makes river hazardous for the rubber duck race, the event will be postponed.

This event is a fundraiser for the Floyd Visitor Center.

On The Water is located at 2053 Thunderstruck Road in Floyd, Virginia.
