Description:
The Pulaski County High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) presents the 8th Annual Pig Wrestling event on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Thornspring Pastures in Pulaski, VA.
Schedule:
• 11:00 am: Gates open
• 1:00 pm: Pig Wrestling starts
Come join the action at Thornspring Pastures for the annual Pig Wrestling event to benefit the Ricky Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Teams of three, in age groups from Pee-Wee to Adults, try their hand at catching the pig for the fastest time.
Age Groups:
• Pee-Wee (PreK-K)
• Elementary (1st-5th grade)
• Middle (6th-8th grade)
• High (9th-12th)
• Adult (18 or older)
Gate admission is free if you are just coming to watch. If you plan on wrestling a pig, the cost is $10.00 per person for peewee and elementary and $15.00 per person for middle, high and adult teams.

1st place prize is $150.00 for elementary, middle, high, and adult, 2nd place is t-shirts and 3rd place will be stickers. Peewee 1st place will earn a trophy.
There will be a local food truck set up for lunch before the event.
The Ricky Jones Memorial Scholarship was established in 2010 in memory of Ricky Jones, an avid agribusiness man and farmer in Pulaski, Virginia. Every year, at the annual Pulaski County High School FFA Banquet, the scholarship is presented to the recipient(s). The scholarship is given based on a culmination of academic achievements, extra-curricular activities, recommendations and an application essay.
Thornspring Pastures is located at 5090 Thornspring Road in Pulaski, VA. It's just 1/4 mile on right after you pass Cougar Xpress.
