The Virginia Tech Bengali Student Association, Indian Students' Association at Virginia Tech and Society of Indian Americans at Virginia Tech presents Durga Puja and Dance Night on Sunday, September 24, 2017 in the Commonwealth Ballroom located within the Squires Student Center.
You are cordially invited to a full day of fun, festivities, food, dance and music on the occasion of Durga Puja, a major Indian festival.
Schedule:
• 1:00-2:00 pm: Prasad Distribution
• 2:30-4:30 pm: Cultural Show
• 4:00-6:00 pm: Indian Dinner
• 7:00-9:00 pm: Garba Dance
The festival celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and love over hate. A worship ceremony will be followed by 'prasad' (distribution of traditional bengali platter), a cultural program featuring authentic Bengali dance, drama and music, a sumptuous Indian dinner catered by Taaza Roanoke and a Gaarba Dance Night where the young and old come together on the beats of vibrant Indian music.
Tickets for the dinner are $20.00 per person and are limited. Advance purchase is strongly recommended.
