Palisades Restaurant presents Clinton Collins in concert on Saturday, January 20, 2018.

Clinton Collins, either as a solo artist or with his band, presents a unique blend of Americana music, along with original, creative songwriting. His musical journey guides us through places and to people that seem familiar and stories that resonate with us all. From the rural back roads to the places of the heart; melodies are filled with humor and observations about relationships, faith and everyday living. Clinton is a sought after artist who performs throughout the year at house concerts, coffeehouses, festivals and special events.

Appalachian born, Clinton was raised listening to the country and bluegrass music of his family's record collection. His dad loved Flatt and Scruggs and their Martha White show on Saturday night television was a must watch in the Collins household. His siblings brought back their favorite music once they had grown and ventured into the world to find work. With their influence he would hear Motown, Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Eric Clapton, JJ Cale, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard.

Clinton's interest in guitar began growing and even after his brother bought him his first real guitar, a hollow body Silvertone with amp. Later in high school he befriended two songwriters that really help shape his desire to write and become an artist. There he joined the first of many bands for the next few years playing proms to bars. After the bands, Clinton began playing more acoustic material and began writing his own material.

It wasn't long until he had gathered enough material to record his first project. Since that time he has released over five projects and now his latest for 2016, Around The Sun, is the album he's been waiting to record for some time. A mixture of many influences with the fingerprint of his own style can be found on each tune. Along with the projects each live performance Clinton welcomes the audience into a comfortable and intimate setting where they become part of the story and leave with a new friend.
