Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. presents the 11th Annual Summer Solstice Fest on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in downtown Blacksburg, VA.

Summer Solstice features live music, beer and wine garden, the Solstice Market, Downtown Sundown 5k® Race, sand beach at Cabo Fish Taco, Circus Stella with performances at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:00 pm, Dog Costume Contest, Alberti Flea Circus with shows at 1:15, 3:15 and 5:15 pm and so much more. Enjoy crafts, activities and festival foods!

• 4:00-5:00 pm: Flight One
• 5:15-5:45 pm: Dog Costume Contest
• 5:45 -6:15 pm: New River Irish Dance School

• 8:00-9:00 pm: Soulacoustix
• 8:30 pm: Downtown Sundown 5K starts
• 9:30-11:00 pm: Kind of Woodshed

Circus Stella is a traditional family circus featuring performing rescued dogs and amazing human feats like trapeze, aerial silk, rope-walking, and acrobatics. Circus Stella has been featured on both The Ellen Degeneres Show and America's Got Talent. Circus Stella will be setup in the Blacksburg First Church of God Parking Lot on Lee Street behind Cabo Fish Taco.

Thanks to the Town of Blacksburg there will be free parking at metered spaces and metered lots. In addition, the future home of Midtown, a planned new community for the site of the old Blacksburg Middle School, will be offering free festival parking, restroom facilities and a ready station with sunscreen, water and more.

We need many hands to make light work to bring this fabulous festival to the community. Volunteer tasks range from set up, to pouring beer to assisting with the Flea Circus, to selling t-shirts. All volunteers receive a meal voucher and a day of fun serving the community. Shifts are two hours.

Summer Solstice Fest is a rain or shine event.
