Description:
Historic Smithfield Plantation presents the 1st Annual 5K Frontier Run starting at the Virginia Tech Cross Country Course and 1776 Fun Adventure Run starting at Smithfield on Sunday, March 18, 2018.
Full Day Schedule of Events:
• 12:15 pm: Check-In
• 1:00 pm: 5K Frontier Run starts at Virginia Tech Cross Country Course
• 3:00 pm: 1776 Adventure Fun Run
The 5K Frontier Run will take you past historic sites that were part of the original plantation. Living history demonstrators, informational displays, and activities will be set up along the course. Step back in time and enjoy a run or brisk walk along the grounds of Historic Smithfield!
The first 50 people to register will receive a t-shirt. Sizes are not guaranteed. Each participant who finishes the race will receive a certificate of completion.
Medals will be given to participants who finish in the top three of their age and gender groups. Children ages 12 and under will receive a special certificate, but not a medal.
The age groups are:
• 12 and under
• Ages 13-17
• Ages 18-29
• Ages 30-49
• Ages 50+
Early registration has been extended and is $20.00 for adults. Students with a student ID are $15.00 and children 12 and under are $15.00.

In addition, the Smithfield house will be open the entirety of the event for people to tour. All of these activities (5K, Fun Run & House Tour) are included in the registration fees.
