• April 19, 2018 at 7:30 pm
• April 20, 2018 at 7:30 pm

1890s London sets the stage for two fun-loving bachelor friends that have both taken the pseudonym "Ernest" to escape from their social responsibilities. When they both fall in love with two women using the same name, hilarity ensues in this popular satire.

Considered to be one of Wilde’s most popular pieces, this performance explores roles of identity and notions of triviality.

“This extremely witty play was the last one that Oscar Wilde wrote and developed,” said Director Patricia Raun, a professor of theatre in the School of Performing Arts and director of the Center for Communicating Science. “It’s hilarious as it mocks the society that it represents — a society that prized style over substance. It is certainly relevant to our world today.”

Admission is $12.00 for the general public and $10.00 for seniors and students with valid ID.

Tickets can be purchased online, in person at the Moss Arts Center Ticket Office or by phone by calling the Ticket Office at 540-231-5300.
