The New River United Endowment Committee presents the 2nd Annual Polly Zeiger 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, August 11, 2018 starting and finishing at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center's Soccer Pavilion.

Race Schedule:
• 7:30-8:30 am: Race Day Registration & Packet Pickup
• 9:00 am: 1 Mile Fun Run
• 9:15 am: 5K

Join New River United and run for a cause at the 2nd Annual Polly Zeiger 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run to benefit the Polly Zeiger Memorial Endowment created to aide those in need within our soccer community.. The 5k is geared towards both the avid and novice runner / walker.

Registration for the 5k is $25.00 per person and families will pay a maximum of $50.00 for the entire family to participate. The 1 Mile Fun Run is $10.00 per participant.

Enjoy post-race food and door prize drawings while waiting for race results.

Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female runners and top three male and females in each age group. Door prizes and post race food will be provided as well.

Packet pickup is available on Friday, August 10, 2018 at RunAbout Sports at the First & Main Shopping Center in Blacksburg, VA from 4:00-8:00 pm.

The endowment is a collection of donations that is invested in perpetuity and is designed to provide grants to offset program costs for those that require financial help to play at NRU. Our goal is to be able to meet 100% of this need through the interest income generated by the endowment.

Polly Zeiger was a long-time enthusiastic supporter of NRUSA, and all three of her children played or currently play soccer for NRU. This endowment is designed to help those in need and to honor Polly’s beautiful spirit. Polly’s legacy was her love of community and her drive to help children in need. In her memory, the Zeiger family created the endowment to benefit children playing with NRU.
