VA Momentum presents the 1st Annual Blacksburg Turkey Trot and The Gobble Gobble Kids Dash on Thursday, November 22, 2018 starting and ending at the intersection of Draper Road and Roanoke Street in downtown Blacksburg, VA.

Race Schedule:
• 8:00 am: Gobble Gobble Kids Dash Begins
• 8:15 am: Announcements & National Anthem
• 8:30 am: Blacksburg Turkey Trot Begins
• ~9:30 am: Awards Presentation

The Blacksburg Turkey Trot is the perfect mix of fun and fitness on Thanksgiving morning. The 5k course is designed with all skill levels of walkers and runners in mind! It's ideal for first-timers and veteran runners alike. The Turkey Trot is a professionally timed event, you'll receive a race bib and chip timing device at packet pickup, but don't let that deter you from coming dressed in your favorite Thanksgiving-themed running gear!

The Gobble Gobble Kids Dash is a can't-miss tradition for kids ages 3-12 on Thanksgiving. The Kids Dash features all the excitement of the Blacksburg Turkey Trot and we'll kick it off with some music and warm-ups. They'll be energized by the roar of the crowd and feel the freedom of wind in their face as they run through the streets (Draper Road) of Blacksburg. Kids Dash participants will finish prior to the start of the Blacksburg Turkey Trot.

Note: One parent may run with any child 8 or younger.

The cost is $25.00 for the Blacksburg Turkey Trot and $15.00 for the Gobble Gobble Kids Days not including online processing fees.

There will be a canned food collection and non-perishable food drive for the Interfaith Food Pantry. Each participant is asked to bring one canned good or non-perishable to packet pickup on Wednesday, November 21st at Sugar Magnolia from 12:00-7:00 pm. More than one item is welcomed and encouraged. VA Momentum will consolidate all of the items and ensure they are delivered to the Interfaith Food Pantry.

In addition to the food collection, a cash portion of the proceeds from the race will go directly to the Interfaith Food Pantry.

All race packets must be picked on Wednesday, November 21st at Sugar Magnolia. There will be no race day pickup.
