He was showcased more than any other vocalist on Dr. Dre's album "Compton" as he contributed six songs with a #2 pop hit and also worked with artists Ice Cube, Eminem, Marsha Ambrosius,= and Kendrick Lamar.

Fitz and The Tantrums are an American indie pop and neo soul band from Los Angeles that formed in 2008 and is led by the band's founder Michael Fitzpatrick. With their lively sonic mix of '80s New Wave, blue-eyed soul, disco, and dance-pop, the band is known for its explosive, no-holds barred live shows.

Their debut studio album, "Pickin' Up the Pieces", was released in August 2010 on indie label Dangerbird Records and received critical acclaim. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The band has since released three follow-up albums.

Fitzpatrick has said that the band's musical style can be fairly described as "soul-influenced indie pop." He noted that while the band is influenced by the classic songs of the Motown and Stax record labels, the band is not trying to create an exact replica of that music.
