The Giles County Historical Society Museum continues the John K. Hale Lectures Series with the lecture titled "Dunmore's War: The Last Conflict of America's Colonial Era" on Thursday, September 12, 2019.
Dr. Glenn F. Williams is an author and historian at the United States Army Center of Military History. His book, "Dunmore's War", covers the 1774 campaign against a Shawnee-led Indian confederacy in the Ohio Country that marked the final time an American colonial militia took to the field in His Majesty’s service and under royal command. The campaign is often neglected in histories, despite its major influence on the conduct of the Revolutionary War that followed.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
The museum is located at 208 North Main street in Pearisburg, VA.
