Description:
Runabout Sports presents the 35th Annual Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler and 5k on Sunday, February 9, 2020 starting and ending at Margaret Beeks Elementary School.
Race Schedule:
• 10:00 am - 12:00 pm: Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-Up
• 12:30 pm: One Mile Fun Run
• 12:45 pm: Costume Contest Judging inside the School
• 1:00 pm: 10 Mile & 5k Start
• 2:15 pm: 5k Awards
• 3:00 pm: 10 Miler Awards
Running and walking is so good for your heart. Join us for the first race of the 2020 RunAbout Race Series with the 35th year of the Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler and 5K. A one-mile fun run will also take place that is fun for the whole family.
The 10-mile and 5K are rolling courses through Blacksburg, near the Virginia Tech campus, on roads and paved footpaths. All miles will be marked. Water will be available on both courses.
With Valentine's Day around the corner, there will also be a fastest married couple contest in the 10 Mile race and best costume with a Valentine's Day theme.
Race shirts will be available to 10 Mile and 5k participants while they last. All 10 Milers will receive a finisher medal.
Registration can be made online, by mail or in person at Runabout Sports located at 1470 South Main Street, Suite #100 in Blacksburg, VA within the First & Main Shopping Center.
The One Mile Fun Run is free to participate in and shirts will be available for purchase for $12.00 while supplies last.
Free food and beverages will be available for runners after the race at race headquarters. Awards ceremony and drawings for door prizes will follow as soon as possible after each race.
Awards will be given out for the overall top three male and female finishers and by age groups. Runners are eligible for one award which will be determined in the following order of priority: overall, masters, grand masters, age group. Note: Awards will not be mailed.
