The Wilderness Road Regional Museum presents the February Wilderness Road Scholar Lecture Series titled "Unsung Heroines" on Sunday, February 16, 2020.

Retired teacher and current DAR Regent for the Alleghany Chapter, Karen Finch, will speak on the Unsung Heroines with special emphasis on Letitia Preston Floyd who lived nearby Newbern at the Thorn Spring Plantation.

Letitia and Gov. John Floyd were both interesting leaders for the Commonwealth. Letitia and other powerful women of the Preston Family and beyond will be discussed at the talk. This year's programming will focus around "her"story and this talk will be the first of many to highlight the strong women of Southwest Virginia and their unique roles in forming our history.

Everyone is welcome, free event, but donations are always appreciated.
