Virginia Tech Alumni presents the online HokieTalk "Virginia Tech’s COVID-19 Response: Science and Engineering in Service to Community Health" on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.

Join us for a virtual HokieTalk where top Virginia Tech researchers will share their roles in the COVID-19 response. Hokies are making lifesaving contributions in novel testing and design of equipment. Moderated by Mike Friedlander with faculty members Carla Finkielstein, Harry Sontheimer, and Chris Williams.

Panelists include:
• Carla Finkielstein, associate professor of biological sciences at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute and College of Science and director of the Virginia Tech Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory.

• Harald Sontheimer, professor at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute and College of Science and director of the Center for Glial Biology in Health, Disease, and Cancer.

• Chris Williams, College of Engineering professor of mechanical engineering.

The event is free and open to the public though registration is required.

To register, visit: https://aimsbbis.vt.edu/hokietalks1-2020.

HokieTalks are hour-long conversations that give Hokies an exciting insider look at current research that is making a difference. The talks are short and engaging, and attendees are encouraged to ask questions.

There is no charge to participate in our HokieTalks program, however there is an opportunity to make a gift to Virginia Tech’s COVID-19 Fund for those who would like to help accelerate ongoing research and testing operations.
