The Virginia Tech Department of Religion & Culture presents the 2nd Annual Religion & Culture Film Series featuring Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Lyric Theatre.

Event Schedule:
• 6:00 pm - Doors Open
• 6:30 pm - Film Screening
• TBD - Reception immediately following at the CAIO Office next door

Please join us for the 2017 Spring Film Series in which a faculty member introduces one of their favorite films and talks about how it intersects with their own research and teaching. Professor Matt Gabriele will introduce the film and link it to larger cultural and religious themes in the contemporary world.

Three decades after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a ragtag group of heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance. This is the 7th installment in the Star Wars franchise.

The film is rated PG-13.
