Description:
The Blacksburg Library presents an Author Talk with Gil Harrington and Jane Lillian Vance on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
On October 17, 2009, a 20-year-old VT student named Morgan Harrington went to a Metallica concert in Charlottesville and never came home. A farmer found Morgan’s remains in a remote pasture about six miles from the concert venue 101 days later.
In response to Morgan's abduction and murder, her mother, Gil Harrington, created the Help Save the Next Girl Foundation. Gil comes to share her story and her book, "Morgan Harrington: Murdered and Dead For Good". She is joined by Jane Lillian Vance, one of Morgan’s beloved teachers, whose images and essays about the trials of murderer Jesse Matthew help narrate Gil Harrington's transcendent journey toward justice and healing.
Autographed books will be available for purchase.
