The Daughters of the American Revolution present the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge Sign Unveiling Ceremony and Reception on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Pete Dye River Course in Radford, VA.
The local Daughters of the American Revolution chapters have arranged for a sign unveiling ceremony and reception to commemorate the renaming of the Route 114 Bridge between Montgomery and Pulaski Counties as the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge.
The keynote speaker for this ceremony is Brigadier General Lapthe C. Flora who was born in Saigon, Vietnam and is the first Vietnam refugee to be promoted to general officer in the U.S. Army and the second of Vietnamese decent. Previously, he served as the commander of the Virginia National Guard's Bowling Green-based 91st Troop Command and currently serves as the Assistant Adjutant General for Strategic Initiatives.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
All Vietnam Veterans are invited to provide a picture that will be included on a Veterans Board which will be unveiled at the ceremony.
