Description:
The Newport Jamboree presents their August 2017 Jamboree featuring the music of Scott Fore and County Connection in their season finale on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Newport Community Park.

Scott Fore is an internationally recognized guitarist from Radford, VA having won the National Flatpicking Championships two times that is held in Winfield, Kansas. He is also the Doc Watson guitar champion and the Wayne Henderson Champion of Champions. He has also has published a popular instructional book on flatpicking.

The County Connection is a four piece bluegrass band which is Catawba based. Its members include Pam Landreth on bass, Frank Garman on guitar, Garry Williams on banjo and Melvin Linkous on fiddle.

The local Ruritan chapter will be selling concessions including hot dogs and snacks and be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

We will ask for a $5.00 donation from each adult to cover the bands. Kids under 12 get in free.
