The Fralin Life Science Institute at Virginia Tech kicks off the Virginia Tech Life Science Seminar series with the talk "Role of Mitochondia in the Oxidative Stress of Alzheimer's Disease" presented by Dr. George Perry on Friday, September 1, 2017 in the Fralin Auditorium at 102 Fralin Hall.
Life science experts from around the world will present the latest advances in areas of basic and translational research every Friday during the fall 2017 semester as part of the Fralin Life Science Institute’s Virginia Tech Life Science Seminar series.
The talks are free and open to the public and will take place from 12:20 pm to 1:20 pm on Fridays.
This semester’s line-up includes speakers covering a breadth of emerging topics in research, some of which include original work in neurological diseases, studies in time-keeping systems and their relevance for body functioning, addiction research, and research work in plants as a mean to better understand human health. Talks encompass a variety of disciplines spanning from biophysics to bioinformatics and include speakers from academia and industry.
Some of the seminars are live streamed and, where permission is granted, will be archived on the VTLSS webpage for future reference.
Fralin Hall is located at 360 West Campus Drive in Blacksburg, VA on the campus of Virginia Tech.
