UPDATE: The concert has sold out.

In honor of Daniel Pearl Music Day, the Mixed Student Alliance, Hillel at Virginia Tech and the Jewish Student Union present the 2017 Daniel Pearl Music Day Concert featuring Bowling for Soup with opener Kosha Dillz on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Lyric Theatre.

Join us to celebrate "Harmony for Humanity" during these challenging times. After the death of Daniel Pearl in 2002, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered by his captors in Pakistan, his family decided to inspire hope and unity by inviting people everywhere to dedicate a musical event in the spirit of his love for music.

This year's opening act will be Jewish rapper Kosha Dillz and the main act will be 90's rock band Bowling for Soup!

Bowling for Soup is a punk-pop band originally formed in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1994. The band is best known for its singles "Girl All the Bad Guys Want", "1985", "Almost" and "High School Never Ends".

Kosha Dillz is a man who knows no boundaries. Born Rami Matan Even-Esh to Israeli parents, he led a life of crime and addiction after a life of sports and competition, only to return to his craft of hip hop as an artist who was proud to represent who he truly is.

Best described as a mix of influences from the Beastie Boys to Matisyahu and Wu Tang Clan, he can be compared to acts like Macklemore, Lil Dicky and Mac Miller with a hint of more culture and realism. His ability to intertwine with reggae and rock acts to hard core rap acts has earned him spots on the legendary Vans Warped Tour as well as his own solo headlining tours across America. He is best known for his uncanny free styling ability and ability to rap in Spanish, Hebrew, English and even Yiddish.

Kosha Dillz is considered to be the most interesting rapper in the world. He raps about everything he sees, experiences, and dreams, which doesn't always make sense, or does it? Best digested live, he is known for his hustle, but his rhymes are even doper.
