Description:
The Virginia Tech Softball team presents their 4th Annual Hit-A-Thon on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Tech Softball Park.

The evening of fun will feature the Hokies and celebrity hitters taking their best hacks in an effort to benefit the Hokie softball program. Fans are encouraged to sponsor celebrity participants and members of the Tech softball team by pledging a dollar amount per foot the ball travels per hit.

Donors choose the price per foot with a minimum pledge beginning at $0.25. Hitters’ performance determines the amount of funds raised. Each participant will have 10 swings with the furthest hit counting towards the pledge.

This season, a preliminary round will decide which 10 Virginia Tech student-athletes will go up against the celebrity hitters in a bracket-style home run derby competition. Donations will also be taken towards Mulligans for celebrity hitters. If you have a favorite hitter you would like to see take more swings you can donate $25.00 for 5 swings or $50.00 for 10 each swings for our celebrity hitters.

• Whit Babcock - VT Director of Athletics
• Jon Laaser - Voice of the Hokies
• Derek Gwinn - Asst. Athletics Director
• Aly Onyon - VT Softball Nutritionist
• Bimbo Coles - VT Basketball Hall of Famer
• Ben Hill - Director of Major Gifts for Intercollegiate Athletics
• Brad Wurthman - Senior Associate AD, External Operations
• Chris Bales - Assistant Director Ticket Sales

Kids are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween costumes and participate in a free “Trunk-or-Treat” on the field once the event concludes.

Admission to both events is free.
