Description:
Lyric Theatre presents An Evening with Todd Snider on Friday, February 2, 2018.
Join us at the Lyric Theatre for an evening with Todd Snider performing solo supporting his latest effort "Eastside Bulldog". In support will be Allen Thompson.
Todd Snider is an alternative country, rock and folk musician currently based in East Nashville, Tennessee.
Singer / songwriter Todd Snider first garnered attention for his timely alt-rock satire "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues," a folk-rock song that struck a chord with younger people fed up with angry alternative rock bands, and at the same time, appealed to aging rockers who grew up with the folk revival of the 1960s. Snider was born in Portland, Oregon, and grew up in Santa Rosa, Austin, Houston, and Atlanta.

https://www.instagram.com/toddsniderlive/Allen Thompson is a singer, songwriter and guitarist based in East Nashville, Tennessee. Thompson’s country-soul vocals and earthy, literate songwriting have entertained for years. His music combines country, roots-rock, southern soul, and Appalachian folk music.
Thompson began writing music as a teenager in Roanoke, Virginia. His parents split up when he was very young, and Thompson spent most of his childhood bouncing between different homes, staying with a combination of relatives and school friends. Music was a source of stability, a way to connect with each home he visited.
“If I was staying with my grandparents,” he remembers, “we’d listen to country music, old folk tunes, and World War I songs. We’d watch “Hee Haw” every Saturday. With my mom, I’d listen to a lot of soul music. With my dad, it was southern rock and ‘80s country. And then my friends’ families showed me all the tunes they were into. It was fascinating to learn how different types of popular music touched different types of people”.
