Historic Smithfield Plantation presents the event "Heritage and Origins: Exploring the Roots and Culture of the Enslaved at Smithfield" on Saturday, February 10, 2018.
Guests will enjoy a Celebratory Tour hosted by Smithfield's Museum Director April Danner and Dr. Kerri Moseley-Hobbs. Art and artifacts from the West Africa culture of those enslaved at Smithfield will be on exhibit. In addition, a presentation on the religious roots of those enslaved at Smithfield will be given.
Admission is free however donations are warmly accepted.
