Description:
The Virginia Tech Department of Plant Pathology, Physiology, and Weed Science presents a documentary screening of "Food Evolution" on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Lyric Theatre.
"Food Evolution" is a 2016 documentary looking at the science of food and the topic of GMOs rated TV-PG.
The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) released a food documentary called "Food Evolution", which sheds light on the various conversations and controversies surrounding the science of food. The film specifically focuses on genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and organic foods by illustrating a side of the conversation the media fails to communicate — the scientifically-proven facts.
With interviews and perspectives from professionals on both sides of the argument, this documentary aims to bring attention and awareness to the importance of communicating fact-based science.
