Virginia Tech's School of Architecture + Design presents the 6th Annual Virginia Tech Empty Bowls on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Commonwealth Ballroom located within the Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Please join students from the School of Architecture + Design in partnership with the student chapter of IDSA and the YMCA Studio Potters for a night of homemade soup and beautiful ceramics! With the purchase of a ticket, you will be able to select a handcrafted bowl of your choice, use it for soup that night, and take home the empty bowl as a reminder of all who go hungry in our community.

All proceeds raised go to Micah's Backpack. This local nonprofit organization relieves hunger issues by partnering with local schools to provide direct assistance to students who suffer from food insecurity. Each Friday during the year, students receive a backpack filled with enough food to last an entire weekend.

Tickets are available the day of the event, online and in person at the Burchard and the 2nd Floor Burruss Hall Studio at Virginia Tech.

Live music will be provided by Virginia Tech a cappella groups Mixed Emotions, TechNotes, Naturally Sharp and Juxtaposition.

Arriving early and advance tickets are recommended due to the popularity of the event.

Students, the general public and kids are welcome.
