Good Samaritan Hospice presents the 3rd Annual NRV Hike for Hospice on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Claytor Lake State Park Picnic Shelter #1.

Schedule:
• 1:30-2:00 pm: Day of Registration & Pre-Registered Check-In
• 1:50 pm: Welcome & Gathering of Hike Groups
• 2:00 pm: Hikes leave from Picnic Shelter #1
• 3:25 pm: Raffle Prize Drawing
• 3:30 pm: Memorial Ceremony & Dove Release

Lace up your hiking shoes and join us for our 3rd annual NRV Hike for Hospice! There are three different levels of hikes and the hikes will be led by Claytor Lake State Park rangers and naturalists.

1. Easy Hike – 0.75 Mile Walk
2. Moderate Hike – 2.00 Mile Hike
3. Advanced Hike – 3.00 Mile Hike

The afternoon will also include:
• Lunch off the grill provided by Hethwood Market Catering
• Live bluegrass music provided by the talented Eastern Divide Band
• Games including cornhole, jumbo jenga, horseshoes & more
• Fishing: Claytor Lake State Park will provide fishing poles just bring your fishing license
• Puppy Kissing Booth featuring Good Sam's own licensed therapy dog Roux
• Face Painting for the young and young at heart
• Memorial Ceremony with dove release held at the end of the event

All of the proceeds raised from the NRV Hike for Hospice are designated to directly support and enhance Good Samaritan Hospice’s extensive Bereavement Program.

Good Sam’s Bereavement Program annually serves approximately 700 individuals, hosts 100 + grief counseling classes and groups in the community which are free and open to the public, and follows each patient’s family for 13 months after they pass to offer support and reassurance.

Only participants who register online in advance are guaranteed a NRV Hike for Hospice t-shirt.

There will also be a raffle. This year’s outdoor adventure raffle prize was donated by Backcountry.com. Purchase your tickets for a chance to win a brand new, sit-on-top ocean kayak, which is valued at $900.00. Tickets are $2.00 each.

Dogs are permitted at Claytor Lake State Park as long as they are on a leash and have their rabies tag.
