Blacksburg Community Strings is proud to present their 19th Spring concert on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Blacksburg Middle School.

Pieces include:
- Copland's "An Outdoor Overture"
- Premiere performance of "Dance of the Magus" by John Crawford (a.k.a. DefCello)
- "Adagio for Sparticus" by Khachaturian
- "Salute to Mancini"
- Fauré's "Pavane"
- "Gypsy Airs" by deSarasate
- "Overture for Iphigenie en Aulide" by Gluck
- A special performance by the Gilbert-Linkous Elementary string students.

You won't want to miss it!

Admission is free and no tickets required. Donations will be welcome.

The Blacksburg Community Strings (BCS), a community ensemble of violin, viola, cello and string bass players, was formed in October 1999 and had its debut public performance in December 1999. It is made up of middle and high school students, avocational community players, and active and retired professionals.

BCS welcomes string players of all ages and abilities from Blacksburg and the surrounding region. All members are volunteers. There are no dues or fees. No auditions are required. Requirements: Your love of music and your willingness to work hard!
