Description:
The University Libraries presents The American Soldier Transcribe-a-thon on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in the Athenaeum (Room 124) located within Virginia Tech's Newman Library.

This event is called "The American Soldier" and will focus on the digitization of soldiers' reflections from the WWII era. These include journal entries, letters, notes, etc. We will work together to type out as many handwritten documents as possible, and you can even earn ranks depending on how many documents you are able to transcribe and submit.

Fans of history, literature, and human-computer interaction are all encouraged to be a part of this national event. This event will be curated by the US National Archives, and parts of it will be livestreamed as we work on the documents.

Open to all! Drop by whenever you'd like in this time period.
