Ride Solutions presents the 2018 Bike Shorts Film Festival New River Valley Screening at the Lyric Theatre on Thursday, May 17, 2018.

The Bike Shorts Film Festival features shorts films produced by local, national and international filmmakers featuring bicycles, bicyclists, and bicycling in interesting, creative and surprising ways. From music videos to zombie movies, the Bike Shorts Film Festival highlights some of the incredible creativity that Southwest and Central Virginia has to offer.

After the screening awards will be announced for the Juried Prize, Best Local Film, Best Music Video and Best Teen Film categories. And, the audience will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite film of the night, which will be awarded with the People’s Choice Award and a $100.00 cash prize. Come out to support your favorite film!

Tickets are $5.00 per person for all ages.

Proceeds from each Bike Shorts Film Festival screening go directly to support local Ride Smart activities, our partner venues and the artists who create the works we screen each year.

Ride Solutions provides alternative transportation options – ridesharing (carpooling and vanpooling), biking, public transit, walking, and guaranteed ride home services – to residents living within the greater New River and Roanoke Valleys and Region 2000 regions of southwestern Virginia. Through our free services we partner with citizens and businesses to connect them with commuting options – beyond the single-occupancy vehicle – to access work and school.

RIDE Solutions is a grant-funded program made possible through the partnership agencies of Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (VDRPT), Roanoke-Valley Alleghany Regional Commission, New River Valley Planning District Commission, and Region 2000 Local Government Council.
