Description:
Science on Tap New River Valley presents "Ghost Streams with Watercolor Painting Workshop and Urban Stream Talk" on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Rising Silo Brewery in Blacksburg, VA.
We are really excited to have an Art Workshop combined with our science outreach at our next Science on Tap event!
Scientist Brynn O'Donnell will show us what happens to waterways when they run through urban areas. Brynn's flash talk won the 2017 Nutshell Games at Virginia Tech.
Do a watercolor painting for artist of all ages with Robin Scully, Arts Program Director at Virginia Tech and organizer of the "What Color Is Water?" outreach workshop, and then hear the award-winning flash talk about urban streams by science grad student Brynn O'Donnell!
Help spread the word, and invite your friends to make art and discuss science over a beer!
This event is free and open to the public.
Science On Tap New River Valley community celebrates scientific thought and explores new discoveries through monthly events with a featured researcher. We kick off the event with games, comedy, or other fun things. Then, an invited guest researcher demos their research. And then we'll discuss, ask questions, learn together, and mingle.
