Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley present the Triwizard Tri-Mile Trail Race and Potter in the Park Fundraiser for Literacy on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Nellie's Cave Park in Blacksburg, VA.

Schedule:
• 8:00-9:00 am: Day of Registration
• 9:45 am: Race begins
• 12:00 pm: Race cutoff

Race with us across the Wizarding World and into the Forbidden Forest! The race is held on September 1st which is the first day of Hogwarts classes at 9 3/4 o'clock and is for both walkers and runners.

The Triwizard Tri-Mile (just short of a 5K) Trail Race is for runners, walkers and hikers of all skill level. The hilly course winds through Nellies Cave Park fields and dirt trails and through mowed grass field trails in The Meadows - which is located off of South Main Street in Blacksburg, VA. A water station will be provided mid-course.

After the race, stick around for an Awards Ceremony, costume contest, photos with Potter characters, quidditch fun, door prizes and more for wizards and muggles alike!

Early registration is open until August 15th and guarantees a t-shirt. Regular registration (open from August 16-31, 2018) and same day registration does not guarantee a t-shirt.

Participants can register in person and pick up their race packets at Runabout Sports in Blacksburg, VA on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 4:30-6:30 pm.

Dogs are welcome, but must be well-behaved and leashed at all times. Timing is being generously provided by Runabout Sports.

Strollers/joggers are not recommended due to a section that is technical single-track through the woods.

Proceeds benefit the Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley. Their mission is to foster support, advocate for and instruct adults in the New River Valley who seek opportunities to achieve greater independence through literacy.
