Christiansburg Department of Parks and Recreation presents the 2018 Huckleberry Hustle 5K and One Mile Fun Run, Getting Scary on the Huckleberry on Saturday, October 27, 2018 starting and ending at the Christiansburg Recreation Center.

Race Day Schedule:
• 7:30-8:30 am am: Race Day Registration & Packet Pick-Up
• 9:00 am: 5K begins

The event includes the Huckleberry Hustle 5K Race, Kids One Mile Fun Run for ages 8 & under and Costume Contest with awards for Most Creative Adult Costume and Most Creative 17 & Under Costume.

After the race, participants can enjoy free breakfast prepared by Parks and Recreation staff including pumpkin pancakes, apple cider, water, bananas, apples and reunite with their children for the annual Truck or Treat event in the Rec Center parking lot.

The top male and female finishers will receive an award and prize money in the following amounts:
• 1st: $100.00
• 2nd: $50.00
• 3rd: $25.00

The cost to enter the 5K is $20.00 in advance and $25.00 on the day of the race. The One Mile Fun Run is free to enter.

The race will begin on Cambria Street and follow the street until it intersects with the Huckleberry Trail. Participants will then make
a right turn to follow the Huckleberry Trail behind the Spradlin Farms Shopping Center and Wal-Mart. They will then cross the Renva
W. Knowles Bridge and follow the trail below the New River Valley Mall parking lot. They will make a right-hand turn to run up the
hill toward the NRV Mall Parking lot, run through the back parking lot (next to the guard rail) and reconnect with the Huckleberry
Trail. Once back on the trail, they will run back over the Renva W. Knowles Bridge, behind the Spradlin Farms Shopping Center and
Wal-Mart, and back to the Christiansburg Recreation Center. There will be police monitoring traffic along the 5K course.

Strollers are welcome however participants with strollers will need to start at the back.

No animals will be allowed on the course during the races.
