Women’s Work: Re-Imagined focuses on the work of female artists, and as commentary on the nature of the work women do in the world seeks to break stereotypes and examine assumptions about contemporary roles. The art show will be on display from December 15, 2018 through December 20, 2018.
Opening night will also feature live music by Erin Hunter and Catherine Backus. Erin and Catherine met at a house show in 2017 and have been harmonizing ever since. Erin is a fiddler and vocalist who has gigged around Roanoke for years, while Catherine is a songwriter transplant who cut her teeth in the Athens, GA scene. They both love Lucinda Williams and Patty Griffin, but their repertoire runs the gamut from Jazz Standards, to Cyndi Lauper, to murder ballads.
