UPDATE: Due to the weather and air travel across the United States, tonight's show with Nasim Pedrad has been postponed.
The Virginia Tech Union presents a Performance by Comedian and Actress Nasim Pedrad as part of VTU Week on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Haymarket Theater located within the Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Nasim Pedrad is an actress and comedian best known for her five seasons as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2009 to 2014. She has since gone on to co-star in sitcoms such as Mulaney, Scream Queens, Brooklynn 99, Curb your Enthusiasm, People of Earth, and New Girl.
Nasim was born in Tehran, Iran.. She and her parents lived in Tehran until 1984 before emigrating to the USA when Nasim was two years old. She was raised in Irvine, California and graduated from the UCLA's School of Theatre in 2003. Before joining the cast of SNL, Nasim was a member of The Groundlings and had also performed in shows at ImprovOlympic and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles. She is SNL's first Iranian-American cast member.
