Description:
The Radford Public Library presents Radford Reads with Rick Van Noy on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
Author Rick Van Noy will speak at the library about his new book "Sudden Spring". "Sudden Spring" is a portrait of what climate change looks like in specific Southern places to specific people. Combining stories from residents with local experts from geology, conservation, and government, this book details who climate change affects, what it does and how communities are dealing with it.
Rick Van Noy is a local author, professor and outdoor enthusiast. He has written two books "Surveying the Interior" and "A Natural Sense of Wonder. His latest book is entitled "Sudden Spring: Stories of Adaptation in a Climate-Changed South".
Rick grew up in a small town in New Jersey. After stints in Colorado, Washington, and Ohio, he moved to Radford, Virginia, for a position in the English Department at Radford University and stayed for the clean waterways and lovely mountains.
