Virginia Tech Alternative Transportation presents the 2019 Virginia Tech Roam NRV Bike Ride on Saturday, March 2, 2019 starting at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech and ending at the Hokie Bike Hub located within the Alternative Transportation Department.
In celebration of our new bikeshare system the Department of Alternative Transportation at Virginia Tech is hosting a group ride! We will have around 50 Roam NRV bikes for people to try out. The ride will also have a police escort and Alternative Transportation Employees to help people learn how to ride a bicycle in traffic! If you want to learn some commuting techniques in a safe group setting this is your chance. Representatives from Roam will also be on hand to answer your questions about the bike share system.
We plan on meeting at Moss Arts Center at 1:00 and doing a very easy campus loop ending at the Hokie Bike Hub (1330 Perry Street). The ride should take less than 30 minutes. No one will be dropped or left behind! We should also have some food and Roam giveaways at the Bike Hub at the end of the ride.
Although we only have a limited number of Roam bikes, we want to encourage people to bring their own and participate regardless. If you do not have a bike or want to specifically request a Roam bike, please let us know in advance by emailing us at gettingaround@vt.edu.
An inclement weather date of 3/2/19 has been scheduled if needed.
The Virginia Tech Alternative Transportation Department is located at 1330 Perry Street in Blacksburg, VA on the campus of Virginia Tech.
