Description:
The Virginia Center for Civil War Studies presents "Eels, Peepholes, and Pickett's Charge: Microhistory Here and Now" Civil War Lecture on Friday, May 31, 2019 inside the Solitude Room within The Inn at Virginia Tech

Join us for a free and public keynote lecture by Richard Bell of the University of Maryland entitled "Eels, Peepholes, and Pickett's Charge: Microhistory Here and Now" at our Microhistories of the Civil War Era conference.

Learn about the field of microhistory. What is it? Why is it a valuable way of understanding history? What can we learn about large events, such as the Civil War, by studying the individual experience of the war?

This conference is hosted by the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies.
