The New River Valley Historic Dance Society (NRVHDS) presents "Historical Dancing: An Evening Dancing with Friends" on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the Sapphire Ballroom & Dance Center.

Join the English Country Dancers of the New River Valley Historic Dance Society as we laugh, dance, and enjoy each other's company while learning new dances.

English Country Dance is a form of folk dance which originated in England in the 17th century and was danced throughout the American Colonies during that period. A splash of European influence adds charm and elegance as dancers move in time to the hauntingly beautiful melodies.

No experience or partner necessary! Beginners, groups, singles, and families are always welcome. Every dance will be taught by being broken down into simple components and cued while dancing. If you can walk, you can dance, and we'd love to have you dance with us.

Children are welcome. Casual attire appropriate.

NRVHDS meets on the Second Tuesday of the month (other than February) at Sapphire Ballroom in Christiansburg, VA.
