Description:
Floyd Center for the Arts is pleased to present three new art exhibits opening on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

In the Hayloft Gallery, the Center’s main gallery, is “SAMPLER: A Sampling of What You Might Find Along the 9th Annual Floyd Artisan Trail”, an exhibit comprised of artwork and other items from various sites along this year’s Artisan Trail tour, which takes place Friday through Sunday, June 7 – 9, 2019. Featured works in this exhibit include furniture made from local hardwoods, pottery, paintings, sculpture, fiber art, glass, instruments, a display from a honeybee sanctuary and lots more!

In addition to SAMPLER, the Center also welcomes “Floyd Musings”, Oil Paintings by Howard Wenger. The works in this exhibit are representative of the 12 years he has lived and painted in Floyd.

In the Breezeway Gallery, the Center is pleased to welcome back the Floyd County High School Spring Semester Art Show. This exhibit is made up of artwork created by the students of Ms. Ingram’s and Ms. Tanner’s spring art classes and includes pottery, paintings, sculpture and more.

Many of the featured artists will be available to meet with the public and to answer any questions about their work.

This event is free and open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Refreshments will be served and a cash beer and wine beer will also be offered for purchase.

This reception is also designed as a kick-off for the Artisan Trail tour weekend. For more information on the Artisan Trail, visit: http://www.nextthreedays.com/FeaturedEventDetails.cfm?E=513197.
