As part of the 2019 National Solar Tour, there is a Solar Open House at the Piscura's House on Saturday, October 5, 2019.

If you have ever considered going solar, come to this open house! See active and passive solar up close, ask questions, see an actual electric bill from a solar house. See and electric vehicle, solar food dehydrator, composting system, rain collection system, and energy saving home improvements.

Our house has been green since 1983. It super insulated and passive solar with a heat sink. We are a composting family that generally has one small bag of trash per week. Visitors can see how we compost, operate our solar house and drive and charge our electric car.

This event is free and open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.

The Piscura's house is located at 2861 Sonny Alley Drive in Draper, Virginia.
