The Indian Students Association (ISA) at Virginia Tech presents Dandiya Night 2019 inside the Old Dominion Ballroom within the Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech on Sunday, September 29, 2019.
Join us for a night of dancing to Garba and Bollywood music! Dandiya Night is a celebration of the victory of the mythical goddess Durga over the terrible demon Mahishasura. On this day, people young and old from all over India, come together and dance with dandiyas (colorful sticks) as an imitation of this great battle.
The dandiyas (colorful sticks) will be provided, and all are welcome to join in the dancing. The dances are easy to follow and learn so don't hesitate to jump in.
The event is open to all age groups and admission is free.
