The New River Community College Fiddle, Banjo & Dance Club presents their October concert featuring The New Habit Band and the Friday Night Dance Band in concert on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Edwards Hall, Room 117 located within the New River Community College's campus in Dublin, VA.

The New Habit Band is a hard driving bluegrass band based in Southwest Virginia.

Members from numerous bands and a pair of brothers came together for the first time to form The New Habit. Although from four different bands, Bluegrass brought them all together.

The Friday Night Dance Band is an old-time band from Callaway, Va. Over the years, the band has played at many different venues including jam sessions at Cannaday’s Store in Boones Mill and the Floyd Country Store in Floyd and regular fundraising shows at the Floyd Fire Department. The band also received a commendation from the Virginia General Assembly for their contributions to the community of Redwood and town of Rocky Mount, where they played for benefit dances.

Admission is free and all are welcome. Donations will be accepted to help with travel expenses for the musicians.

Jamborees are held the second Saturday of each month, October through April at New River Community College's Dublin campus, a Crooked Road affiliated venue.

Doors open at 5:00 pm and the music starts at 6:00 pm.
