The Blacksburg Regional Art Association presents their 2019 Annual Meeting featuring a Talk from Portrait Expert Margaret Hancock on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Margaret Hancock is an art and design educator for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, VA. Ms. Hancock will present on portraits in American art with at talk titled "Face Value: Portraiture in American Art". This subject ranges from folk to classical and from realism to impressionism. Hancock will delve into
these stylistic variances with a visual exploration of painted portraits of Americans by Americans. Works in significant portrait collections across America will be explored, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of Art, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

Her presentation will start shortly after 2:00 pm and end around 3:00 pm.

The free presentation is open to the public.

Following the presentation will be a short break with refreshments and the annual meeting of the association will follow. Guests are welcome to come for the presentation only.
