Description:
The Floyd Center for the Arts presents the 25th Annual Winterfest and Festival of Trees on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm and Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm.
This year’s event features more than 30 local artisan vendors selling a wide variety of art, crafts & goods, kids’ holiday-themed art activities, our ever-popular Winterfest Cafe offering breakfast, lunch, beverages and snacks, and more than 60 trees and wreaths decorated by local businesses and organizations available in a silent auction.
Back for its sixth year, Festival of Trees features a silent auction of decorated trees and wreaths. The Floyd Center for the Arts has partnered with Floyd businesses and organizations to celebrate the holiday season and also encourage shoppers to visit local outlets for gifts, decorations and food for the season.
This year’s Festival of Trees has over 60 participating businesses. Each pre-decorated, tabletop holiday tree or hanging wreath will be on display at Winterfest, with the final bidding for visitors to win a tree to take home for the holidays finishing at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 8th.
There will also be free kids’ arts and craft activities for the little ones to enjoy.
The Winterfest Cafe will again be a significant element of the offerings, full of homemade delicacies, soups, snacks, and more. This year offering both breakfast and lunch.
The first Winterfest was designed as a year-end showcase of local artisanship and creativity, in time for local residents’ holiday shopping, many of whom have a policy of buying locally made handcrafted gifts for friends and family. Twenty-three years later, Winterfest remains the best opportunity for shoppers to find a wide variety of handmade, local, unique gifts all offered at one place, allowing shoppers to connect with makers and learn the stories behind the gifts.
Admission is free and all are welcome to join in the festive family fun!
