Lyric Theatre presents Reel Talk on the film "Parasite" with discussion led by Dr. Stephen Prince on Monday, December 16, 2019.

This discussion will be led by Stephen Prince. Dr. Prince has taught film history, criticism and theory at Virginia Tech for 20 years. His research and publications focus on Japanese cinema, the American film industry and on political cinema.

Parasite, directed by Bong Joon-Ho and winner of the Palme D'or at Canne and nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Director (a rarity for a foreign language film), has been described as a ".. brilliant, powerfully revealing social satire."

Stay after the Monday matinee or see it over the weekend and come back for the talk at 12:30, Monday, December 16.

"Parasite" is a 2019 South Korean comedy, drama and thriller and was the the first Korean film to win the Palme d'Or, the highest prize awarded at the Cannes Film Festival.

All unemployed, Ki-taek and his family take peculiar interest in the wealthy and glamorous Parks, as they ingratiate themselves into their lives and get entangled in an unexpected incident.
